
Computer Donation Kit
We are now accepting applications for our Fourth Round of Computer Kit & Device Donation Program, it closes on Wednesday April 30, 2025.
Recipients will be contacted by Saturday May 17, 2025.
We have 100 Computer Kits, 7 Laptops, 2 Tablets, and 2 Smartphones.
The Computer Donation program bridges the digital divide that exists within our community.
Success Accelerator is donating computer kits & devices for FREE to young adults between 16-29 years of age who in the Greater Toronto Area who is in need to enhance their access to computer technology.
Submitting multiple entries may hinder your application.
No phone calls, instant message, or emails expressing your need for a computer please, it may reduce your chances.

*Parents/Guardians/Social Workers, you may include your email address in the last question if you'd like (and we'll copy you in future communications), but you cannot apply on behalf of the youth with your email address.

The following information is important. You'd want to read it:
1. The computer kit is the hardware to access a private cloud-based computer. It will run on Windows operating system and functions the same as any modern computer (you will also have the full Microsoft Suite). The kit consists of a USB fire TV stick, keyboard, and mouse.
2. For computer kits recipients , they must have the following:
(a) Internet access where they use the device (ie. home)
(b) A screen, such a monitor or TV with USB input or HDMI-like adaptor that converts to plugin a USB
3. If you have an old laptop or computer that is slow, you can request to get access to the software for a year. The benefit is that it will be faster, enhancing your productivity.
4. Eligibility: Young adults 16-29 residing within the Greater Toronto Area. Priority will be given to those that need it the most, making the greatest net impact on their lives, and will participate in Success Accelerator or our community partner's programs.
5. Tip #1: For the application, you'd want to tell us how being a computer recipient would make a greater net impact for YOU, not the importance of bridging the digital divide.
6. Tip #2: You'd want to avoid depending on AI for your written answer. We want to get a true picture of your story, voice, and goals. You'll have a much higher chance of being selected when the text is a reflection of who you are.
Applications will not be evaluated on grammar or sentence structure, we are just looking for your story and your voice.
7. It is a requirement to complete a feedback form with us every three month how you benefited from having the computer so we can continue to build the program and continue getting more computers for more young people.
8. You must be able to pick up the computer kit or device on Saturday April 5, 2025 at a location downtown (to be finalized by March 5). There are no exceptions to this requirement, unfortunately we would not be able to provide an alternate pick up date or location.

Computer Kit & Device Pick-Up Information

Q: Will I get a computer kit?
A: With over 5000 applicants in the first round, we anticipate that not applicants will receive one.
The best way to stay connected is to participate in Success Accelerator programs that you’re interested in and level up yourself while getting to know the team.
Q: How is the recipient chosen?
A: Our mission is to serve youth aged 16-29 residing within the Greater Toronto Area. Priority will be given to those that will create a greater net impact on their lives. Recipients will be notified through the contact details they provided in their application should they be one of the chosen recipients.
Q: Do I get to keep the computer? Or do I have to return it?
A: Recipients of the computer device (laptop, desktop, tablet, smartphone) will get to keep it.
For the computer kit, recipients will be able to keep the hardware, and will be have access to their own private cloud-base computer for 12 months.
We ask that recipients report how they benefited from the computer every 3 months so that we can measure impact and continue building the program and get more computer from funders and supporters!
Q: What type of computer devices are being donated?
A: The computer devices are refurbished. Most of the laptops specs listed below, we also anticipate a chromebook, tablets, and smartphones.

Q: If I am chosen, how where do I pick up the computer?
A: We are securing a venue downtown Toronto for Saturday April 5, 2025 and recipient will be able to pick up the computer on that day.
Q: Did I get a computer kit or device?
A: If you are a recipient of one of the computer kit or device, you will be notified by April 1, 2025. If you did not receive notification it is likely you didn't make the shortlist. However, some folks we contacted are non-responsive, as such, those application will null and void.
Q: I didn't hear back after I applied, what's going on?
A: We got many incorrect email addresses that are coming back as not delivered. We try to correct as many email addresses as we could. The other reason is because we have over 5000 applications, just sending out the communication is taking several days as we are hitting our daily limits. Thank you for being patient with us as we are working through this.
Q: I am under 16 year old/over 29 year old/not in the Greater Toronto Area, can I still get a laptop?
A: Our mission it to serve youth aged 16-29 residing within the Greater Toronto Area. Those that falls outside of the population we serve will not be eligible to receive a computer laptop from our program.
