Q: Will I get a laptop?

A: With over 5000 applicants, of course not everyone will receive one. We hope to procure more laptops so we can award more laptops to those that need it most on the waitlist. The best way to stay connected is to participate in Success Accelerator programs that you’re interested in and level up yourself while getting to know the team.

Q: How is the recipient chosen?

A: Our mission is to serve youth aged 16-29 residing within the Greater Toronto Area. Priority will be given to those that will create a greater net impact on their lives. Recipients will be notified through the contact details they provided in their application should they be one of the chosen recipients.

Q: Do I get to keep the laptop? Or do I have to return it?

A: Recipients of the computer laptop will get to keep it. We ask that they report how they benefited from it every 6 months so that we can measure impact and continue building the program and get more computer from funders and supporters!

Q: Will the free laptops be handed out at the Better Look event on June 5?

A: If you are a recipient of one of the computer laptops, you will be notified. Logistically, it would be easiest for the recipients to pick it up on June 5, however, if they cannot make it, we will make alternate arrangements to get the laptop in their hands.

Q: Did I get a laptop?

A: As of Wednesday June 8 2022, we have reached out to candidates shortlisted to receive a computer laptop. Some of the recipients picked up their laptop at the Better Look event, others we will coordinate the laptop hand-off. We will notify and contact you per the information provided in the application. If you did not receive notification it is likely you didn't make the shortlist. However, some folks we contact are non-responsive, as such, we may reach out to some more folks next week.

Q: I didn't hear back after I applied, what's going on?

A: We got many incorrect email addresses that are coming back as not delivered. We try to correct as many email addresses as we could. The other reason is because we have over 5000 applications, just sending out the communication is taking several days as we are hitting our daily limits. Thank you for being patient with us as we are working through this.

Q: Can I still apply for a computer?

A: Application deadline has passed. We thank you for your interest, we are no longer accepting applications.

We hope to procure more laptops so we can award more laptops to those that need it most. The best way to stay connected is to participate in Success Accelerator programs that you’re interested in and level up yourself while getting to know the team.

Q: I am under 16 year old/over 29 year old/not in the Greater Toronto Area, can I still get a laptop?

A: Our mission it to serve youth aged 16-29 residing within the Greater Toronto Area. Those that falls outside of the population we serve will not be eligible to receive a computer laptop from our program.
